TikTok engagement rate calculator by views, followers or reach
Engagement rate for TikTok videos by views, followers or reach, compared with the usual rate for each method.
TikTok shows videos to people who do not follow the account, so engagement is usually measured against views rather than followers. The calculator starts with views and counts likes, comments, shares and saves. You can also divide by followers or reach to compare with figures measured that way.
Add up the numbers of all the posts you include. Several posts give a fairer result than one post that did unusually well.
The same Instagram post can show 0.4% when divided by followers and 5% when divided by reach. Compare a rate only with one measured the same way.
Usual engagement rates on TikTok
By views, brand videos average 4.2%. By followers, the median for creators is 2.29% under 10,000 followers, 0.62% from 10,000 to 100,000 and about 0.5% above that.
Why views give a fairer picture
A video can reach many more people than the account has followers, so a rate by followers can pass 100% on a video that spreads. Dividing by views compares each video with how many people watched it.
