Photos, videos, files and albums
A post can carry one file: a JPG, PNG or WebP photo, a GIF that plays as an animation, an MP4 video, an MP3 or M4A music file or a document such as a PDF.
An album holds two to ten files. Photos and videos can be mixed, or the album holds documents only. Captions on media can be up to one thousand and twenty four characters.
Hide With Spoiler keeps photos and videos blurred until a member taps them. Move Caption Up shows the caption above the photos and videos.
Text and link posts
A text post can be up to four thousand and ninety six characters, and links get Telegram's preview. A link post puts the text first, then the link with its preview.
Link Preview sets how the preview looks: Automatic, No preview, Move Up, Enlarge Photo, Shrink Photo or Move Up with Enlarge Photo.
Polls and quizzes
Ask a Question, then Add an Option, up to twelve options. Set Correct Answer turns the poll into a quiz. With Allow Multiple Answers on, a quiz can have several correct answers.
Allow Revoting, Shuffle Options and Hide Results work on every poll, Show Who Voted in groups and Restrict to Subscribers in channels. Add an Explanation (Optional) is for quizzes, and Add Description (optional) gives the poll a description.
Limit Duration sets how long the poll stays open: one hour, six hours, one day, three days, one week, two weeks or one month.
Options for each post
Send Without Sound delivers the post without a notification sound. Restrict Saving Content stops members forwarding or saving it. Pin pins it in the chat. Button adds one link button under the post. Topic sends it into a topic, in groups that use topics.
The Telegram panel only shows the options that apply to the channels and groups you selected.
Threads and post links
Each thread part is sent as a reply to the one before and can carry its own media.
After publishing, each post links to its exact message. Basic groups have no message links, so those posts link to the group. If Telegram refuses a post, you see its own error message.
Timing
Telegram shows messages in the order they arrive, and members can get a notification for each post. A post sent while your members are busy is further up the chat when they open it.
