Profiles and company pages
Connect a personal profile, a company page or both. Everything on this page works on each, unless it says pages only or profiles only.
Who can see your post is set for each post: Anyone, or Connections only on a profile. Company pages always post to Anyone. Turn off reposting stops other people from reposting a post.
Document posts
Attach one PDF, DOCX or PPTX file and it appears on LinkedIn as a document people swipe through, page by page. LinkedIn accepts files up to one hundred megabytes and three hundred pages. The title shown on LinkedIn comes from the file name, so name the file the way you want the post titled.
The composer preview shows the document as a card with its file type and title.
Photos, video and links
A post carries one to twenty photos in JPG, PNG or GIF, and each photo can have its own alt text of up to one thousand characters. A video post carries one MP4.
Text runs to three thousand characters. Parentheses, brackets, hashtags and links come through exactly as you wrote them, and hashtags stay clickable. A post that contains a link gets a card with the page title, description and image, the same card LinkedIn builds when you post there directly.
Polls
A poll has a question of up to one hundred and forty characters and two to four options of up to thirty characters each. It stays open for one day, three days, one week or two weeks, with one week as the default, as on LinkedIn. Polls go on text posts, without photos or files.
Reposts from a company page
A company page can repost any public LinkedIn post, with or without its own text above it. Pick from the page's recent posts, or paste a post link, a short lnkd.in link or the embed code of the post.
Threads as comments
Write a post with extra parts and sona.to publishes the first part as the post and the rest as comments under it, in order. On a company page, the comments are posted as the page.
Checks and timing
File types, the media combination, poll rules and repost links are checked when you save, so problems appear before the post is scheduled. If an upload fails, the post fails with the reason LinkedIn gives, and it is never shown as published.
