Why does Instagram remove my empty lines and spaces?

Instagram cuts two or more empty lines in a row to one. When you post from the Instagram website, it also cuts spaces at the start of a line and double spaces.

How does the tool keep them?

It puts the braille blank (U+2800) on each empty line and in place of each extra space. The character is invisible and Instagram keeps it.

How do I add a blank space?

Click Copy a blank character, then paste it into your caption where the space should be. It is the same invisible character the tool uses.

Do the hidden characters count toward the limit?

Yes. Each one counts toward the 2,200 characters of a caption. The counter above the box includes them.

Do I need this when I post with sona.to?

No. Captions posted through sona.to keep their empty lines and spaces in the Instagram app.

Can I turn it back into plain text?

Yes. Paste it into the box and click Back to plain text.

Is my caption sent anywhere?

No. The caption is changed in your browser and nothing you type leaves the page.
